When Rivers Meet at Lafayette London – 06/05/2023
Grace and Aaron Bond are the fabulous husband and wife couple that make up When Rivers Meet. The multi award winning (and UK Blues Hall of Famers) band that took Lafayette by storm! Photographs and a review were published on the Wrinkly Rockers Club magazine website.
Nashville based Arielle opened up the evening with an amazing set skipping through the musical world of this analogue girl. Skirting between genres, and ruling on her guitars, this young talent has so much to offer. It’s no wonder that Brian May is such a fan!
Kenny Wayne Shepherd at Shepherd’s Bush Empire – 23/04/2023
Celebrating 25 years of “Trouble Is”, Kenny Wayne Shepherd returned to London for an amazing show. As you can imagine, heart wrenching songs were met with unbelievable guitar mastery, making for one heck of an evening. Photos and review of this show were for the June issue of Blues in Britain magazine.
Sick n’ Beautiful at London Dome – 08/04/2023
A group of aliens crashed outside of Rome, Italy and have been trying to blend in and fund the repair of their star ship. This five-piece hard rock/industrial metal band put on an unbelievable self made stage show at every gig they play. Photographers dream! Photos and review of this show were published for Jace Media.
Elles Bailey at Lafayette London – 01/04/2023
Elles Bailey, the rising sensation in the music industry, is currently making a splash with the deluxe version of her award-winning album, “Shining in the Half Light.” As if that’s not impressive enough, she also hosts her own radio show on Planet Rock and has already won multiple awards this year, including at both the prestigious UK Americana and UK Blues ceremonies.
Tamara Stewart, an incredibly talented songwriter and singer, opened the show with her sweet and humble demeanor. I was blown away by her performance and can’t wait for her return to the UK in the autumn.
Elles Bailey bonus album – After her Lafayette show, Elles Bailey extended a personal invitation for me to attend a secret gig at The Lower Third in London. The acoustic set, which featured Joe Wilkins, showcased Elles’ unparalleled vocal prowess. It was truly an amazing night!
Marcus King at The Kentish Town Forum – 21/03/2023
Southern blues and rock sensation Marcus King returned to London as part of his 2023 European tour. His live shows always impress and this was certainly no exception. Photos and review of this show were for the Marcus King tour feature in the May issue of Blues in Britain magazine.
Crossness Location Photoshoot – 16/03/2023
We explore the beautifully restored Victorian Crossness Pumping Station as a stunning backdrop for a promotional photoshoot. Featuring fantastic musical talents Alice Armstrong, Jimmy Regal and The Royals, and Mississippi Macdonald.
Top class bluesman Mississippi Macdonald was first up in the shoot. It was wonderful hearing stories of legendary players he met on the US blues trail, whilst capturing shots around the historic site.
Jimmy Regal and The Royals are a fantastic blues band from South London (which technically makes us neighbours!). The three humble lads have a great outlook towards preserving the blues whilst adding their own flavour.
Whilst Alice Armstrong is relatively new to releasing music, with her first EP only weeks away from announcement at time of writing this, her live pedigree is just astounding. Her voice transcends genre, with so much soul and blues, but also the ability to lift and amuse. There’s little doubt of a big future for Alice.
Ana Popovic at Islington Academy – 10/03/2023
It was a real treat at Islington Academy when we were visited by Ana Popovic. The US based blues artist played a wonderful show. Also with an amazing backing band and tremendous musical arrangements from her musical director. Photos and review of this show were for the Ana Popovic tour feature in the May issue of Blues in Britain magazine.
Also performing earlier in the evening was Toby Lee. Currently celebrating winning the UK Blues Jules Fothergill Young Blues Artist of the year 2023. Having just turned 18, this young lad continues to get better and better each year. Beautiful songs and mastery of guitar keep Toby one to watch.
The Cinelli Brothers at The Half Moon Putney – 01/03/2023
This was something of a homecoming show in London, after The International Blues Challenge 2023. The Cinelli Brothers returned triumphant with their second place finish out of 144 other international acts. Photos and the show review a printed in the May issue of Blues in Britain magazine.
The Cinelli Brothers bonus album – It was a great evening at Blues at the Ritzy in Brixton. The guys were playing for a fantastic dance club and provided everything for a swinging evening!
