Australian prog-metal group Voyager have a bit of everything. In fact, it’s a mish-mash of genres that shouldn’t work on paper – but it really does! Listening to them whilst shooting, the metal influence is hard to miss, and prog is there too to the point that the Peter Gabriel-esque vocals are super nostalgic to those who grew up with their parents playing Genesis. but it’s delivered in a colourful pop package that screams “Eurovision”.
On the subject of Eurovision, Voyager dominated the public vote in Australia for the 2022 contest. Unfortunately the judges overruled this, much to Europe’s loss.
