I’ve recently had the opportunity to photograph Mississippi Macdonald at the Crossness Pumping Station, and I was thrilled to have been able to capture some amazing shots of this talented musician in such a unique and visually stunning location. The combination of Macdonald’s soulful blues music and the industrial surroundings of the pumping station have created a fantastic contrast in your photos.
With a keen eye for detail and composition, I was able to create a range of images that capture the essence of Mississippi Macdonald, from close-up shots of his expressive face as he sings and plays his guitar, to wider shots that show him in the context of the pumping station’s imposing machinery. I was also able to use the lighting and textures of the location to create a range of moods and atmospheres in the photos, from gritty and intense to ethereal and dreamlike.
